Hot Sinatra – Book Cover

My good friend, Axel, asked me to create a book cover for his upcoming novel Hot Sinatra.

After reading the first chapter, which is available on his blog, I came up with a concept and sent his way. After a few back and forths he settled on this as the final art work for his novel. However, the quote may change.

Update:

Well, Axel finally sold his book and the publisher asked for a few modifications to the initial design. Axel and I hooked up one nights and we made changes on the fly – mostly to his name. This is the art work he approved. We’re waiting to hear back from the publishing company. I decided to soften the yellow to make the rest pop a little more and modified the book title with a different font and made it more streamlined to follow the hair.

Jan 03, 2013 Update:

Axel heard back from the publish who wanted a few further changes. We met up again and modified the cover a little bit more. The result is below.

However, the publisher wanted a few other changes and sent this back advising this was the final art work. Some changes are for the better, but not all of them.
